Coffee is a rich source of antioxidants, which protects your skin, and bolsters its natural defenses. One study even showed that due to their free-radical properties, coffee bean extracts can help preserve skin cell energy. Coffee also helps in making skin smoother and brighter, as it regulates skin cell regrowth.
Coffee works great for exfoliating the scalp. Massaging coffee grounds into wet hair for a few minutes helps to get rid of dead skin cells and excess product build-up.
Mix some coffee grounds with brown sugar and olive oil for a gentle face and skin scrub. You can also use leftover coffee grounds to reduce puffy eyes. Once the leftover grounds have cooled down, apply it to your under eyes and eyelids. Leave them on for a couple of minutes and gently rinse them off with cold water. Another alternative to use for puffy eyes is gently tracing a coffee ice cube over the affected area. Coffee promotes blood circulation, which reduces the swelling of tissues, leading to a healthier, more energized skin.
